In 2008 I was part of the Sky News team covering the US Presidential election from New York. It was a historic night as Americans chose Barack Obama as their President.

We return to Keleti Station the morning after Hungary finally opens the border allowing refugees to move across into Europe. Donations have been pouring in all weekend and suddenly there's more charity than there are refugees.

Rohingya refugees flee violence in Myanmar to Bangladesh. More than 420,000 refugees are registered in September. Many have witnessed family members be killed, raped and thrown into fire as Myanmar military forces burnt villages in Rakhine state. 60% of refugees arriving in Bangladesh are children and many hadn't eaten for 14 days.
